Fernie Alpine Resort is a powder-packed dream turned reality, delivering a variety of endless terrain and vistas. With the legendary powder, uncrowded trails, mild climate, fantastic après ski scene and exceptional beginners area, Fernie is a true winter playground for skiers and riders of all levels.

January 2012 will go down in Fernie history as one of the snowiest months on record, with a foot of snow falling overnight on multiple occasions. The resort has already eclipsed 20 feet of snowfall this season and they’re still counting. Literally push yourself to new heights at Fernie, and discover big mountain skiing at its best. You can now ski the peak at Fernie Alpine Resort on the newly-installed Polar Peak Lift, part of the 50th anniversary celebration of skiing in Fernie. The new lift will bring Fernie’s run total to 142, giving the resort the most runs, most vertical and most snow in the Rockies, with over 2,500 acres of skiable terrain and five alpine bowls.

Skiing isn’t the only activity at Fernie Alpine Resort—Fernie is home to a variety of festivals, parties, fundraisers and family fun events including Kokanee Snow Dreams, voted "Best Deck Party" by Ski Canada Magazine and Fernival, the epic year-end event featuring a huge FREE concert. While staying in Fernie stop by the plaza for weekly aprés activities for kids and families including movie nights and craft nights. Or take in the “Dummy Downhill” (a spectator favorite), which raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society. If you are 19 or over, make sure to stop by the legendary Griz Bar, serving Fernie since 1962, and also home to one of the wildest aprés scenes.

Enjoy ski-in and ski-out convenience with a variety of accommodations on the mountain. Soak in your own private hot tub in a five-star chalet just a snowball’s throw from the slopes, or watch the sunset over the mountain peaks from the balcony of your private condominium.

Take your pick from legendary powder and natural hot springs to traditional small-town bars and pubs crammed with ski bums living the ultimate winter snow dream. It's all in a day at Fernie Alpine Resort in British Columbia, and with hot deals, there's never been a better time to visit.

The small mountain city of Fernie, voted "The Coolest Town in North America" by Rolling Stone Magazine, is rich in coal mining history and turn-of-the century architecture and receives as much as 37 feet of powder per season. From winter ski bums to four-season sports enthusiasts, the locals are friendly and hospitable. No matter where you’re from, you’ll feel at home in Fernie.
