Montana is home to a handful of inexpensive ski resorts that make prime family destinations. One of the most family-friendly places is Bridger Bowl outside Bozeman.

Bridger has designed an online reservations program that allows families to customize their own discount lift and lodging package. Families can choose from three types of packages: a one- to three-night package at a Bozeman hotel, a package for four nights or more at an in-town hotel, or a package for lodging in a guesthouse.

Several Bozeman hotels and inns are participating in the program, and families can customize the lodging portion of the package with one of 18 different Bozeman hotels and inns. Lodging is available at upper-end hotels such as The Residence Inn by Marriot, medium-priced hotels such as the new La Quinta Inn, and budget motels such as the Royal 7 Inn. Rates for a room with two queen beds can cost $59-193 per night.

15 guesthouses are also available in the program. Some are located near the ski area with views of the slopes. Rates range from $134-534 per night.

Families can customize the discount package to suit their needs. In addition to lodging, the package must include lift tickets for adults. You can add any number of lift tickets for seniors or children.

You can also design the package to include food cards, rentals, lessons, and childcare. Children’s group lessons can include lift tickets. Food cards with a value of $25 can be purchased online with lodging packages for $23.
