Horseshoe Resort, an hour north of Toronto near Barrie, is one of central Ontario's most-popular winter playgrounds, and this month you can add romance to the list of reasons for booking a package.
The resort is offering the Valentines Bliss Package, which is available midweek Feb. 12-16 and the weekend of Feb. 10-12.
The midweek package, from $399 CA ($392.46 US), includes lodging for two, a $150 spa credit and winter activity of your choice—downhill skiing, cross-country skiing or tubing. It also includes dinner, breakfast and a complimentary bottle of Ontario wine.
The Weekend Romance Package, which starts from $369 CA ($362.95 US) per night, requires a two-night stay. It includes lodging, a $150 spa credit, your choice of downhill or cross-country skiing or tubing, a three-course dinner served privately in-suite with candlelight and a bottle of wine. Also included is breakfast both mornings, 12 long-stemmed roses in a crystal vase, and even turn-down service with chocolates on your pillow.
The resort offers several complimentary amenities for house guests including use of the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, fitness facilities with daily classes, and squash courts.
Horseshoe has 25 runs, six lifts, terrain park and a competition superpipe with 17-foot walls, the Thunder Valley Tubing Park with its own magic carpet lift, and 35 kilometers of groomed cross-country trails. It typically has one of the longest snow sports seasons in the province.
