The 12th annual Powder Awards took over the Hotel Jerome in Aspen Wednesday night for the “Oscars” of skiing. Professional skiers, ski legends, film crews, industry personalities, media and local ski bums crowded the historic hotel for a night of remembrance and celebration.
After an emotional montage paying tribute to fallen skiers Sarah Burke, Kip Garre, Howie Henderson, Allison Kreutzen and Jamie Pierre, Powder Magazine awarded Sherpas Cinema’s All.I.Can., Ingrid Backstrom, Sean Pettit and Tom Wallisch top honors.

In the Men’s Reader Poll, as voted online by fans, Tom Wallisch, claimed his second consecutive win in the category. Sean Pettit, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Seth Morrison and Bobby Brown made up the remaining top five.
On the women’s side, Ingrid Backstrom once again reigned supreme, followed by Sarah Burke and Kaya Turski. Backstrom also took home “Best Female Performance” for her part in Matchstick Productions’ Attack of La Niña. Backstrom dedicated her Reader Poll award to Burke, who she says inspires her to be a better person.
