Check the calendar. Figure out spring break and start getting the kids excited for some fun on the snow.  Families who purchase a Ski.com package may qualify for free airfare for the kids. The package has to be purchased by Feb. 17. You’ll need to stay at least five nights in March at any Snowmass property. And you’ll need to get at least four days of lift tickets valid at any of the four Aspen resorts of Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain, or Aspen Highlands.

Dan Sherman with Ski.com says he hopes the deal can make it easier and more affordable for families to get to the mountains this winter. “Families have represented a significant percentage of our customer base since our inception 40 years ago and Snowmass is one of our most popular destinations.”

Another freebie is the Kids Stay Free Ski Free Program. It lets kids ages 7 to 12 ski, stay, and have a group lesson for free with the purchase of a Ski.com package that includes the five nights of lodging and four days of lift tickets. Kids also get free rentals when Mom or Dad gets rentals.

Snowmass is especially family-friendly with the Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center at Snowmass base village. The building is only four years old and features two stories of rooms aimed for kids aged 8 weeks all the way up to teens. While you’re there, don’t miss the Snowmass Ice Age Discovery Center on the Snowmass Village Mall. It’s free and open every day in the winter from 11 a.m to 6 p.m.

Ski.com is headquarted in Aspen and is the largest provider of mountain travel in North America.
