Beech Mountain in North Carolina celebrates its annual Winterfest Friday to Sunday, Jan. 8 - 10. Organizers are planning a full agenda of special events and activities in addition to skiing and riding.

A screening of Warren Millers Dynasty kicks off the festivities Friday, Jan. 8. The showing is hosted by Lee-McRae College.

Saturday's schedule is jammed packed starting at 9 a.m. with an Extreme Sports Consumer Demo. Atomic, 4frnt, and Fischer are among the participating vendors. The demo ends at 3:30 p.m. The Nesquick Bathing Beauty Competition starts at 11:30 a.m. and features KISS 93 radio personality Yankee Pete. A cookout with live music will be held on the View Haus deck.

The Summit Figure Skating Club exhibition takes place at 2 p.m. and is followed by the Village Rail Jam at 4:30 p.m. The jam will feature food, music and prizes. The film Black Winter will be shown at 6:30 p.m. in the Beech Tree Bar and Grill and, at 8 p.m., live music starts at the same location.

Sunday is another full day. The demo repeats on Sunday at 9 a.m. The skating exhibition resumes at 11:30 with judging scheduled at 12:30 a.m. The Edge of the World Big Air Competition begins at 3:30 p.m.
