Midwest Skiers And Snowboarders: Think Close to Home

If you live near Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Louisville or Lexington where do you ski and snowboard?

Think close to home.  Perfect North Slopes near Lawrenceburg, Ind., is only about a half-hour from Cincinnati and less than two hours from the other three; all interstate driving.

Perfect North partners with nearby lodging properties in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky for weekend lift and lodging packages that offer easy access to the slopes, and many include breakfast.  Package rates start from $135 per night for two adults.  Most are within 20 to 30 miles of the ski area.

Friday, Jan. 27, they are offering women’s half-day clinics.  The cost is $80 and includes an eight-hour lift ticket, rental equipment and a three-and-a-half-hour clinic.  Spend the rest of the eight hours practicing what you learned.  You have to sign up at least a week ahead of time.  Friday, Feb. 3, the ski area is offering an all-day, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Women’s Clinic for women with intermediate to advanced skill levels.  The cost is $70.  Follow this http://www.perfectnorth.com/calendar.php" target="_blank">link for information on both clinics.

Midweek, Feb. 21-23, the area supports the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer by donating a portion each regular tubing ticket purchased on those three days.

The ski area offers a 400-foot vertical drop, 22 trails, and two terrain parks, all serviced by five chairlifts and six surface tows. There’s a 22-lane tubing park with its own lifts and a dedicated beginner area away from the main slopes with a carpet lift for easy access.  It even offers double-black-diamond glade runs.
