The Outback is Keystone's third and final peak, and it is now open for the season. The groomed Elk Run trail is open. Badger and Timberwolf runs will open for limited access while natural snow conditions permit. Holiday storms are helping Colorado resorts open more terrain every day. The expanded terrain opens 43 percent of Keystone's lift-served terrain.
Keystone's A51 Terrain Park is open with eight jumps and more than 50 jibs, rails, and bonks, as well as a halfpipe. Upper Paymaster is open as well which makes it easier and quicker to get to A51, instead of having to go through slow zones.
Kids get to have even more fun at Keystone with Kidtopia. It's a festival designed just for them. Activities include a village parade in River Run, a glowstick parade down the mountain, arts and crafts, and Disco Tubing. A lot of the fun features Keystone's Mascot, Riperoo. Kidtopia headquarters are at the base of the River Run gondola.
The next Kidtopia week is Jan. 14-19. Other dates are Feb. 11-16, Feb. 18-21, March 15-21, and April 1-6. The second February Kidtopia will debut the world's highest snow fort at the top of Dercum Mountain, a live concert and dancing in the plaza, Radio Disney, and other educational and interactive activities.
