Washington State ski and snowboard resorts are offering deals to introduce beginners to the slopes. You can even get a $50 gift card for taking a lesson from a pro at a Washington resort.

Crystal Mountain Resort is offering two January lesson discounts for beginner skiers and snowboarders. The resort’s first-timer package includes an all-day group lesson, lift ticket for the Discovery Chair, and equipment rental. The package is reduced during January to $79. After January, the price goes back up to $89.

The second package is $10 off during January. It includes lessons, lift tickets, and rentals for three days any time during the season. The lesson on the first day is five hours while the lessons for days two and three are 2.5 hours. The package costs $175 during January.

Other Washington Resorts such as 49 Degrees North, Stevens Pass, Mission Ridge, and the Summit at Snoqualmie offer single-day learn to ski or snowboard packages. These packages designed for first-timers who have never skied or snowboarded include a lesson, beginner lift ticket, and rentals. The packages cost $69-89, depending on the length of the lesson that is included.

Most Washington ski resorts also offer a three-time ski package for first-timers, called EZ 1-2-3, or a similar name. You can find these at Crystal Mountain, 49 Degrees North, White Pass, Mission Ridge, and the Summit at Snoqualmie. The package bundles together lessons, lift tickets, and rentals for three days. The days can be used consecutively or spread throughout the winter. The packages cost $109-169.

Rates vary between resorts due to the length of the lesson programs. Lesson lengths vary from 1.5 to 5 hours. Some resorts require a minimum age of 11-14 years old to participate in the program.

Beginner skiers and snowboarders who take a lesson from professional instructors during January at any Washington resort can get a gift card valued at $50. The gift card is for Skis.com or Snowboards.net. To get the gift card, you will need to save your lesson receipt and send in a copy.
