Everyone is smiling because of the crazy costumes on the slopes. Skiers and riders are encouraged to wear their best '60s costume. Sunlight opened in 1966, which is why the resort is celebrating the '60s. The most outrageous costume receives a prize. The “applause-o-meter” makes its appearance at 3 p.m.

The band Fifty50 will take the stage that afternoon, so wear your dancing boots. There will also be a drawing for a new pair of skis, a new snowboard and plenty of other goodies.

Sunlight is also hosting a Teacher and Student Appreciation Day on Sunday, Jan. 8, so no one has to miss school this Friday. RE-1 and RE-2 students can get a lift ticket and ski for only $15. Teachers and staff will ski for free. Each student, school employee or teacher must show the coupon they receive, their school I.D. or school report card to get the discount.
