If you keep going and going but your skiing or riding abilities don’t seem to improve, check out the six-day Snowsports Weeks at Taos Ski Valley.

The northern New Mexico resort has long been famous for its Ernie Blake Ski School and, recently, its ski weeks. Now that snowboarding is a go at Taos, the resort has added riding expertise to its instructional portfolio.

For $234, a skier or snowboarder gets six days of two-hour morning lessons from the same instructor in the same group. All levels of ability and ages fit into the program, which runs Sundays through Fridays throughout the season. The cost does not include lift tickets, but the price of both instruction and lift tickets can be discounted with a purchase of the Taos Card for $58 adults, $48 teens and seniors, and $28 children. On the weeks beginning Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb. 5, March 25 and April 1, the cost reduction deepens to $99. Taos Ski Valley also offers specialized six-day instruction for racers, telemarkers, masters, beginners and college students. All Snowsports Weeks include video analysis, and nightly talks on technology, biomechanics and psychology to round out the immersion experience.
