Family Fun at SolVista For The New Year

It is an exciting time at SolVista Basin. The family friendly resort near Winter Park is offering something for everyone during the New Year celebration. It’s being called Winter Wonderland and the activities are for all ages. They’re living by their motto of “Do something amazing for your family”.

The big activity is night skiing through the end of the year, from 5-8 p.m each evening. You can also try the tubing hill under the holiday lights. The Charles Dickens Carolers are singing around the slopes each evening as well. Snuggle up to the fire for s’mores each afternoon at 4 p.m. Hop on board a horse-drawn wagon ride.

A torchlight parade will wind its way down the mountain on New Year’s Eve. Kids can participate in the Glow Stick Walking Parade up the Zig Trail. Pick up glow sticks at 5 p.m. Fireworks will thrill everyone in the valley.

SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch is 15 miles from Winter Park. It offers wide-open, groomed trails with a trail system that leads everyone to the same base area. The resort has five lifts and 35 trails which are good for skiing and snowboarding of all levels as well as snowshoeing. Six Progression Terrain Parks are available with boxes, jumps, and rails of various shapes and sizes.

Night skiing is $12/person; Tubing is $14/person; a Combo Ticket is $20/person.
