For Idaho Pandhandle getaways, Schweitzer Mountain Resort may be one of the best for lift skiing and cat skiing. With both options available at the resort, skiers and riders can vary activities based on snow conditions and add in some family fun with tubing and the new zipline. Schweitzer is also offering several lodging specials for this winter.
Schweitzer’s two main lodges — the Selkirk and White Pine — sit slopeside in the base area. Accommodations in the lodges include a free buffet breakfast in the Chimney Rock Grill and use of the pool, hot tubs, and fitness room. You can also stay in touch with the news via a daily newspaper delivered to your room plus wireless Internet access.

The resort is offering a fourth-night-free package for either lodge. It is available anytime through April 8, 2012, except holidays.
The Stella Ski and Stay Package, named for its six-pack lift, starts at $96 per person midweek and $107 per person on weekends. Those rates are based on quad occupancy in a unit. The package, which is available anytime except holidays, includes a room in either lodge, breakfasts, two adult quick tip clinics, and lift tickets.
