A big celebration is happening soon at Steamboat. The stars will shine in late December when The Foundation for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club presents the inaugural Stars at Night Fashion Show.
The event will be held Dec. 29 at the Steamboat Grand Ballroom. “Stars at Night is intended to be a spectacular fundraising event, where we showcase our athletes, our community, and the SSWSC, while we build awareness for The Foundation and raise money,” says Foundation Director Patti Kauf-Melehes.
Olympians and celebrated athletes will join the festivities for an evening of fashion, dinner, drinks and dancing, along with a live auction. Steamboat Olympians who will be on hand include Caroline Lalive, Nelson Carmichael, Chris Puckett, Chad Fleischer, and more.
“Steamboat is a magical place. I hope our Stars at Night event captures that magic and allows everyone attending to walk away feeling more a part of this community and all that makes it special,” says Kauf-Melehes.
The SSWSC Foundation is an endowment created as a permanent fund that provides long-term investment, stability, and opportunity for all SSWSC children, athletes, and coaches.
The SSWSC is in its 99th year of operation, supporting local athletes with year-round training. More than 1,000 kids participate in the club’s programs each year, making it the largest after-school program in northwest Colorado. With the help of the Winter Sports Club, Steamboat has produced more winter Olympians than any town in the country, with 70 representing the United States.
