Midwest snowboarders get your shred on.
The sixth annual So-Gnar Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour is hitting seven Heartland ski areas over the next few weeks. Four of the two-day camps are scheduled over the holidays.
Buck Hill, near the Twin Cities, is first up hosting its camp this coming weekend, Dec. 17-18. http://www.ragingbuffalo.com/" target="_blank">Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park, near the Windy City, follows, Dec. 29-30. In Wisconsin Granite Peak Ski Area is hosting a camp Dec. 26-27, and Tyrol Basin, Dec 31- Jan. 1.
The following month Cannonsburg, near Grand Rapids, Mich., will host the camp Jan. 7-8, followed by Otsego Club, near Gaylord, Jan. 14-15. Ohio’s Mad River Mountain is the last Heartland stop on Jan. 22-23.
The cost for the two-day camps ranges from $275 for the camp, lunches and lift tickets at Raging Bull to $125 at Granite Peak if you’re a season pass holder. Most of the charges range between $125 and $200, depending on the camp you choose. Follow this link for registration and to check on pricing.
The camps, sponsored by SO-GNAR, bring custom made jib features and pro-rider coaches to each area. You get to ride with the pros, learn new tricks, style and creativity while having fun, and there are always lots of free swag giveaways. It is snowboard camp after all, what’s not to like?
This season the camp is being held in conjunction with “Shred Circuit Traveling Contest Series.” At every stop on the tour there will be a Shred Circuit allowing campers to test their newly learned skills in a competition. Every camper will receive free entry, a Firehouse Beanie and So-Gnar die cut sticker. Space is limited at each venue.
