If there’s a member of the family who has been talking about getting into skiing or snowboarding, Brighton Resort may have the answer .

Because surveys of newcomers indicate that the first couple of days on the slopes produce the most fear – and highest dropout rate – Brighton has put together a three-day package designed to give the beginner enough time to become comfortable.

Available for people aged 13 and older, the Three-Day Learn-to-Slide Package includes three group lessons, three full-day equipment rentals and three learner lift tickets. And, Brighton will toss in a free helmet, available until Dec. 21 or while supplies last.

The deal costs $199, which is about 33 percent less than the regular rate for three days of beginner instruction, rental and equipment (without the free helmet). The lesson package runs all season long, and does not require reservations. Beginners must sign up on the day of the lessons, which last for two hours, either starting at 10:15 a.m or 1:15 p.m every day.

Located at the head of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Brighton Resort is known in the Salt Lake basin as the “locals” mountain with its top-rated terrain park, ample beginner and intermediate trails, close-in parking and rustic base lodge.
