Horseshoe Resort, a popular winter sports destination an hour north of Toronto near Barrie, has lift and lodging packages that cover all the winter sports, even if you’re a first time skier or rider. 


If you are new to winter sports or just need a brushing up, check out the resort's Learn to Ski & Board Package, which starts from $239 CA ($234.71 US) based on double occupancy. It includes a night’s lodging, breakfast for two, two lift tickets and a one hour lesson plus rental equipment.


The Alpine Ski and Stay Package, which starts from $165 CA ($162.04 US) based on double occupancy, includes lodging, breakfast for two and two alpine lift tickets that let you start skiing from 4 p.m. on your arrival date.


The All Access Winter Adventure Package, which starts from $179 CA ($175.78 US) per couple, lets you try it all. The package includes accommodations and breakfast for two, two alpine lift tickets, two Nordic trail passes, and two two-hour tubing passes. Children under 16 can be added to the package for $55 CA ($54.01 US) per child. Kids less than five stay and ski free.

Special dinners are taking place in the resort’s upscale Silks Restaurant on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and Day. The cost for the Christmas Day Buffet is $42 CA ($41.25 US) for adults and $20 CA ($19.64 US) for children 12 and under. For New Year’s Eve they offer two seatings for romantic dinners without kids and two seatings for a family buffet. Fireworks take place at midnight.    


The resort offers 25 runs, six lifts, a terrain park, the Thunder Valley Tubing Park with a magic carpet lift and 35 kilometers of groomed cross-country trails. It typically has one of the longest snow sports seasons in southern Ontario, and is open daily and nightly all season long.
