With Utah’s winter season underway for skiers and snowboarders, it’s time to search out a good deal for a place to lay down your tired bones after a long day on the slopes.
From the centre of Salt Lake City you can be on the lifts in less than an hour. You can also get down off the slopes and into a hotel room just as quickly.
The Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown Hotel has taken advantage of that reputation with several package deals for skiers and riders that combine an overnight stay with lift tickets at resorts in the nearby Wasatch Mountains, through April 15, 2012.
Called the Escape Ski Packages, the deals cost $125-279, depending upon timing, and include overnight accommodations at the hotel, breakfast and lift tickets.
The Escape Ski Package for Two puts two guests on the slopes at either Alta, Brighton, Snowbird or Solitude with free day tickets.
The Escape Package for Two Choice of Three also includes an overnight stay and breakfast, but it gives guests the option of skiing at either Park City, Canyons Resort or Deer Valley. If the choice is Deer Valley, there is a $24 surcharge applied per night.
Rooms booked on either Thursday or Sunday require a Friday or Saturday stay, respectively, as well. Groups of 10 or more do not qualify, and blackout dates may apply.
