The merger of the Gitschberg Jochtal ski area will be complete for this winter.

In the spring of this year, construction work began on the Gitschberg Jochtal rail link. The merger of the two areas will create the largest ski area in Eisacktal (South Tyrol, Italy).  It will offer 44 kilometres of slopes and 16 lifts at an altitude of 1354-2510 metres.

The ski area lies between Jochtal Gitschberg Meransen and Vals, both villages are accessible by Mühlbach at the entrance of the Pustertal.

A total of 16 lifts - including five gondolas and four chairlifts bring skiers and boarders directly into the Gitschberg Jochtal. From here, you can enjoy more than 500 peaks and the 40 kilometres of slopes are mostly wide, suitable for beginners.
