Giants Ridge Resort, near Biwabik along Minnesota’s Iron Range, is offering early season lift and lodging deals that are good up until Christmas.
The Lift and Lodging package starts from $74 per person, based on double occupancy and includes an overnight stay and next-day lift tickets. It’s available Dec, 2-4, 9-11, and 16-23. Follow this link to book a reservation.
Lift tickets (without lodging) during the same time period will be $30 a day, $25 half day. A child’s ticket (7-12) will be respectively $20 and $15. Kids under six go free.
It’s Fantastic Fridays during January. Every Friday night during the month it’s half-priced snowtubing from 3-7 p.m., or $16 lift tickets and $16 ski rental from 4-8 p.m. The tubing park, complete with its own rope tow, opened last season during the holidays and proved to be an instant hit. The park is open on weekends all winter long. The cost is normally $15 per person for a two-hour session.
Giants Ridge offers 35 slopes and two terrain parks. Giants Job, an intermediate terrain park features several rails, boxes, foot kickers, a quarter pipe and half-pipe. Mini Shred, a beginner terrain park, includes smaller features, rails and kickers.
When you visit, dress warmly, because the legendary cold that the Iron Range is famous for is no myth. These hardy residents take pride in their region’s reputation as “America’s Icebox.” International Falls is just north of here.
