Heavenly Mountain Resort has announced a new partnership with Snow Park Technologies (SPT) in an effort to up the ante in their terrain parks, and together they will bring back their halfpipe for the first time in four years. Heavenly is known for building some of the most-creative terrain parks around and it can only get better from here with the help of SPT.

“Anything we do at Heavenly, we’re going to do 100 percent, and the terrain parks are no exception,” Heavenly’s General Manager Pete Sonntag said. “We’ve always had some of the most-creative parks in the industry, and this partnership with Snow Park Technologies will allow us to expand on that. Our teams have been working together closely on some incredibly exciting concepts for our parks and for events, and as big as today’s halfpipe announcement is, there is more to come!”

SPT has built over 250 event courses, resort parks, projects on snow including all 14 Winter X Games, Dew Tour, Burton US Open, Winter X Games Europe, DC Mtn Lab and Nike Just Do It Commercial. SPT will assist Heavenly in designing, building and maintaining an 18-foot halfpipe that features Lake Tahoe as its backdrop.

“We are stoked to be involved with Heavenly and their initiatives to push the terrain park program and the return of the Heavenly halfpipe,” SPT President Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson said. “This pipe has it all—great quality with the world’s most beautiful lake behind it.”

The lower section of High Roller Terrain Park will be the new location of the new 400-foot halfpipe. It will be competition-quality and will feature 18-foot walls and 56-foot-wide transitions. Heavenly plans to open the halfpipe between Jan. 14–16, 2012—Martin Luther King Weekend, if weather and conditions allow.
