As a result of the unusually high temperatures, Davos Klosters has had to postpone the start of the ski season on the Jakobshorn until Nov. 25.

The regional Swiss ski squad started training on Jakobshorn at the end of October. However, Davos Klosters mountain rail & cableways today reported that the unusually high temperatures have since made it impossible to use snow-making installations.

As no change in the weather is in sight because of a stable high-pressure system, the start of the season has been postponed for an expected period of one week. The mountain transport companies are now doing everything in their power to ensure that Davos Klosters can start its winter season with the Jakobshorn and Parsenn ski regions Nov. 25.

Guests who have already booked the "Free Skipass" special offer for the week of Nov. 18 - 24 can cancel their reservation at the hotel and Destination Davos Klosters or rebook for a later date. Destination Davos Klosters has agreed with all hotels participating in the "Free Skipass" offer that cancellations or re-bookings caused by the postponement of the start of the season will be made free of charge.
