Arizona's Sunrise Park opened for the 2009-10 season Dec. 23. The opening, which also launches the resort's 40th year of operation, coincides with the Sunrise Park Lodge offering Ski and Stay Packages.
Lifts cranked up Dec. 23 with skiing available from the top of Sunrise Mountain. The resort plans to open Apache and Cyclone Mountains as soon as conditions permit.
The opening of the resort for skiing and snowboarding also marks the start of the availability of Ski and Stay Packages at Sunrise Park Lodge. The 100-room lodge offers less expensive packages for weekdays and higher rates for weekends and holidays.
Weekend and holiday Ski and Stay Packages start at $124 per person per night. The packages, which include lift tickets, are available Friday and Saturday nights as well as holidays. Two-night packages with two days of lift tickets start at $178 per person.
Those looking for deals on Ski and Stay Packages should aim for weekdays making reservations for lodging Sunday through Thursday nights. Standard rooms start at $69 per person per night and include lift tickets for one day of skiing. The two-night package with two days of lift tickets starts at $120 per person.
Package rates are based on double occupancy. A shuttle is available to the ski hill. Reservations are required.
