Angel Fire Sees Visitor Increase

Angel Fire saw more skier visits during the holidays than the past two years. Visitors increased by 28 percent compared to last year and 50 percent compared to two winters ago. Officials note that the counts put the resort on pace for one of the best winter seasons in a decade. "Last year's terrific snow season created momentum that carried over to this year's holiday period," said Angel Fire's Jon Reveal. "We received three feet of new snow in early December and had over 95 percent of the mountain open for Christmas. We were able to far exceed guest expectations and set the stage for return trips in the months ahead." Favorable winter weather patterns continue to dump snow on Angel Fire. Skiers are discovering fresh powder, short lift lines, and a wide open mountain just in time for the resort's annual Big Ol' Texas Weekend Jan. 26-27.
