The Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association is offering a $5 discount on midweek learning programs at all 23 resort members during January to celebrate Learn a Snow Sport Month. It is the only state-wide learning incentive program in the mid-Atlantic. The offer is n not valid with other discounted programs.
Many additional options are available. Each resort determines its own specific program.
One example is the collaboration at Camelback between Burton and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors offering options for learning snowboarding basics with women-specific, children's, and general adult sessions available. Cost is $30. A complete night beginner's package with lift, lesson, and rental night costs $59 on weekdays and $69 on weekends and holidays.
One of the best learning deals is at Bear Creek in Lehigh Valley. The resort's $89 per person midweek ski and stay package includes overnight accommodations at the Inn at Bear Creek; lift tickets for the night of arrival and the next day; 50 percent off ski and snowboard rentals; 50 percent off Discovery lessons at the SnowSports School; and an option to add tubing tickets.
Jan. 7 is the Learn a Snow Sport Month day at Liberty Mountain near Gettysburg. A beginner's lift ticket, class lesson, and ski or snowboard rentals cost $39.
