Big storms recently blew through the I-70 corridor and left plenty of snow on the slopes of Loveland. The Loveland Ski Area received 10 inches in one overnight storm, treating skiers and riders to a powder day. Loveland's holiday hours are kicked in until Jan. 3, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Loveland is a quick zip up I-70 from Denver, just 53 miles from the Mile High City. The ski area offers a screaming deal if you're in Denver for a business trip and you want to take a few hours off to ski. It's called the Day Tripper package. The deal includes a full-day lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental, and all of your clothing. That includes jacket, pants, gloves, hat, and goggles.
Get the Day Tripper deal at the Loveland ticket window and they'll take care of you. The cost is $89 for early or late season, or $99 for regular season.
Another option is to take a group to Loveland, if you're on the Front Range for a conference or meeting. The group rate of 15 or more people is also good for school or church groups. Packages can include rentals, meals, clothing and helmets, in addition to a discount on lift tickets. Advanced reservations are required for Loveland's group pricing.
