Sun Peaks Resort is gearing up for its annual Winter Festival of Wine, a celebration of the Okanagan region wines. A package combining lodging, skiing, and wine events is available in January.

The 12th annual event that takes place Jan. 16-24 started as a celebration of the region's famous icewine; however, the wine selection expanded over the years to include other varietals from the Okanagan region. Events include culinary experiences, wine tastings, and educational seminars.

The resort is offering a package that bundles lodging, lift tickets, and wine festival events together. The Ski, Sip, and Stay package, which starts at $480 per person includes three nights of lodging, two days of lift tickets, and entrance to three wine festival events that include one seminar, one dinner, and one tasting event.

Two other wine festival lodging packages that do not include lift tickets are also available. All three wine festival packages are available Jan. 15-24. Rates are based on two adults double occupancy in a hotel room or studio.

Wine festival tickets are also available individually for events. Event dinners pair up wines with regional cuisine featuring local restaurants, wild game and fish, and gourmet inspirations. Special wine tastings line up varietals with chocolate or Canadian cheeses. Educational seminars include presentations by experts in wine tasting and production.
