At A Glance

The Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School treats tourists and locals to a spectacular torchlight parade on New Year's Eve followed by fireworks. Dinner options are throughout the mountain.

Steamboat has an amazing Western BBQ night New Year's Eve and throughout the winter. It's a family friendly event at the top of the gondola with a BBQ buffet, dancing, and a local country music band. Prices are a little different for the New Year's Eve celebration. Adults are $75, teens are $55, kids ages 6-12 are $42, children under 5 are free.

Another option is more for mom and dad. Ride the gondola up the mountain, where a sleigh is waiting to take you to Ragnar's restaurant. Bundle up and enjoy the ride under the stars.  It's a candlelit dinner with a high-end menu with items like lobster bisque, filet of beef and king crab saute, elk chops, and Alaskan black cod with lobster mac ‘n cheese. Prices for New Year's Eve are $150 for adults and teens ages 13 and older, and $75 for kids ages 6 to 12. The cost for kids 5 and under is $50 but children that young are discouraged.

Kids have an even better option on New Year's Eve. The Kids Adventure Club offers a special evening of entertainment on New Year's Eve with a fun camp complete with snacks, games, movies, and rest time. Kids may ride the gondola and watch the torchlight parade and fireworks. You must make a reservation by 4:30 p.m. Dec. 31. The evening lasts from 6 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. New Year's Day. It includes dinner and snacks.
