Mammoth Mountain, which plans to re-open Nov. 12 for daily operations, brings on the Thanksgiving holiday celebrations. Lodging packages are available plus Thanksgiving dinner and Santa arriving for a traditional tree lighting ceremony.

One early season lodging package is available to skiers and riders over the Thanksgiving holidays. Book accommodations for three nights, and you can get the fourth night free. The package, which is valid Nov. 11 through Dec. 14, may be extended up to 14 nights.

Those who book lodging by Nov. 11 can get 40 percent off slopeside lodging. Mammoth also reduces lift ticket prices all season long when you package them in with your lodging. You can stay multiple nights and receive a corresponding multi-day lift ticket for each person.

Holiday vacationers can celebrate Thanksgiving with the traditional turkey dinner. The Lakefront Restaurant at Tamarack Lodge serves up a special three-course Thanksgiving turkey dinner 1-9 p.m. Nov. 26. Other entrees-fish, meat, or vegetarian-are available, too. The cost for adults is $65, and the cost for children younger than 12 years old is $28. Reservations are recommended.

Thanksgiving is followed by the traditional tree lighting ceremony Nov. 27 in the Village at Mammoth. Santa also arrives to launch the holiday season.
