Sunrise Peak ran its full season until March 25, thanks to snowmaking with reclaimed water. But Snowbowl opened in late January for only 44 skier days and 32,000 skier visits this winter. As Snowbowl vows to continue its court battle for snowmaking with treated effluent, owner Eric Borowsky plans to forge ahead with clearing and thinning 124 acres for new ski trails, building a new 400-space parking facility, and constructing a sledding area. Snowbowl is also consulting with hydrologists about drilling a well directly at its ski area for snowmaking water. "If they don't want to use reclaimed water, fine. We'll use potable water," Borowsky said.
