Golfers head to Bend for its nine public golf courses and three private courses sprawled across the high desert plateau from Redmond to Sun River. Mt. Bachelor Village Resort launched a discounted stay and play package just for golfers who want to try out some of Bend's private clubs.

The discounted package includes a minimum of two nights' lodging and two round of golf. Rates start at $98 per person per night and vary, depending on type of lodging preferred and the course played. The package is based on double occupancy and cannot be combined with other packages.

Mt. Bachelor Village Resort, located near downtown Bend, offers several different types of lodging. Hotel rooms and condominiums cost the least, while those who want to splurge can book into the River Ridge Suites with Deschutes River views or three-bedroom, 2.5-bath forest homes. Rates for the golf package change depending on the lodging cost.

The package's rounds of 18- holes are scheduled at Bend's private clubs. Widgi Creek is known for its challenging Robert Muir Graves design with rolling greens and narrow fairways.  Awbrey Glen, with over 7,000 yards of course, meanders through old-growth tree and outcropping of lava and red-colored basalt. Broken Top Club's course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. Rounds are available only within each course's schedule and subject to club restrictions.
