Southern Idaho Ski Areas Dish up End-of-Season Fun

Many Southern Idaho ski and snowboard areas are dishing up fun spring events, and a few may add on bonus weekends.

Brundage Mountain has planned for April 8 as closing day. If conditions permit, the resort may continue to operate weekends in April or even into May. Brundage throws its end-of-season party March 31 with pond skimming, costumes, and live music.

Brundage is also offering two upcoming Sunday deals. Kids 17 years and younger can ski free the next two Sundays, March 25 and April 1. Moms get to ski free April 1, too.

Here's the reason Brundage may extend the season: March has delivered several storms with big powder days, as this short video will attest.

Bogus Basin winds up its season April 7 with scavenger hunts. Youngsters can look for 50 big flowers hidden around the mountain while those older than 21 years get to hunt for blue PBR beer ribbons. A costume contest also adds to the frivolity. Bogus may add on a bonus weekend April 14-15, pending conditions.

Other southern Idaho ski areas start closing down for the season earlier. Magic Mountain and Soldier Mountain plan to operate their lifts for skiing and snowboarding through March 31. After ramping up with a non-stop week of running the lifts daily for spring break, Tamarack Resort will close April 1.

Pebble Creek will run through April 1, but may extend the season into April on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, if conditions permit. Pomerelle Mountain plans to operate daily into April.
