More "ugly" in the Northeast with rain, snow and sleet, quieting down in the midwest and snow for the Southern Sierra. RC

Northeast

Scattered snow showers continue across New York state along with special attention for Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

While rain and sleet dominate parts of Maine, Northwest PA and portions of Western NY could see up to a foot of snow. Highs mid 20's to mid 40's.

Midwest


Cool temps remain in the forecast, but the region appears to be headed for a pretty quiet day. Slight chance of snow showers and flurries over eastern Michigan and Northeast Ohio. Highs mid 30's to mid 40's.

West

The system that moved into the region yesterday brings with it rain showers and mountain snow for Southern CA, Nevada, Western Utah and parts of Arizona. Heavy snow is also expected above 7000 feet in the Southern Sierra. Heavy rains could cause flash flooding in the mountains around the Los Angeles basin. A slight chance of snow showers is also in the forecast for Montana, central Idaho and parts of Wyoming.
