Breckenridge’s Spring Fever festival lasts a full-month with a bevy of events, competitions and parties. If anything, go for this year’s stellar live music. Acts include Julian Marley, Leftover Salmon and Rusted Root—all free, on a specially-built stage at the base of Peak 8.
Meanwhile, athletes from novices to pros will compete in events that will test their mountain skills. Competitions include: the Five Peaks Mountaineering Race (North America's longest ski mountaineering race) and the Imperial Challenge, Breck’s classic annual race that includes mountain biking, a 2,500-foot ascent up Peak 8 and a fun descent to the base of the mountain.

Don’t miss the Chili Cook-off and the Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival. Naturally, Breck’s dozens of bars and clubs will be hopping. And remember: late-season snow storms at Breck’s high altitude are always possible, so make sure to bring the fat skis just in case.
