Kirkwood Mountain Resort will play host to inaugural High Up Fest 2012 on March 24. This one-day event will have several national recording artists headlining in an effort to bring together the popular reggae movement with rock and hip hop.
The event will be near Red Cliffs Lodge with incredible views of Kirkwood’s legendary terrain and Pyramid Peak.
The popular reggae artist, Collie Buddz will be performing several of his solo hits, as well as with his band, The New Kingston Band. Philadelphia recording artists, The Movement, will also be performing hits from their album “Set Sail,” which has been #7 on the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums. Kelley James will be performing a fascinating collection of acoustic guitars, hip-hop beats, thoughtful lyrics and freestyle flows. The hip-hop duo from Oakland, Zion I, will also be performing.
Another highly acclaimed national Reggae recording artist, as well as DJs will be announced soon.
Companies like Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Subaru, Volcom and Marmot are also sponsoring the music event.
Show tickets will start at $39. Guests can purchase combo tickets, which include a lift ticket and concert ticket for $89. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased at www.highupfest2012.com.
There will be a free shuttle from South Lake to Kirkwood that will run a round trip all day. Any “High Up Fest 2012” Ticket will allow you free access, and it will have stops at Harveys, Stateline and multiple other South Lake Tahoe points.
Guests can spend the day and evening listening to great music and skiing Kirkwood. Doesn’t get much better than that!
