Obergurgl Expands With Race Tracks, Snow Canons, Tobogganing

Ski area of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl has improved its ski area in time for winter, with more artificial snow cover, a free skibus, a new three-kilometre toboggan run, and facilities for ski racers.

Work has been carried out across Obergurgl-Hochgurl over the summer months to provide skiers and snowboarders with more, both on and off the slopes.

New features include snow-making devices at Kirchenkar and Krumpwasser ski lifts in Hochgurgl; a permanent race course accessed from the Bruggenboden ski lifts; a new speed track accessed from Plattachbahn gondola; a free skibus shuttle from Laengenfeld at 15-minute intervals; and a new three-kilometre-long natural toboggan track leading from the top station to the base terminal of Hochgurgl mountain gondola.

Night tobogganing in Hochgurgl is available every Monday and Thursday from 7:30 to10:30 p.m. and costs €9 children and €13 adults. For lift pass holders and children under 8 years, the lift ride is free of charge. Child rates apply for young guests between 8 and 16 years.

The ski area of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl comprises 257 kilometres of slopes connected by 67 mountain lifts.
