Car Pooling Pays Off At Jiminy Starting Dec. 6

Snowboarder flying high at Jiminy Peak. Snowboarder flying high at Jiminy Peak.

Here's the deal offered by Jiminy Peak: Fill your car with at least four people, grab an old lift ticket, arrive before 10:30 a.m. on the next three weekends (Dec. 6-7, Dec. 13-14, or Dec. 20-21), park, flash your lights, and wait for an attendant to rush up with a free lift ticket voucher.

The old lift ticket can be from anywhere: Jiminy, another ski area, off an old parka or the floor of your car. Just bring it in and hand it over.

What's the catch? Nothing odious. Limit is one lift ticket voucher per car, valid that day only, can't be scalped in the parking lot, and cannot be combined with any other offer.

Jiminy calls the deal "Save Green Weekends" and is among several deals the area offers.

"Everybody wins, not just you and your friends, but the planet too. Four people in a car means three less cars on the road producing emissions. Save your own green and help us preserve the Earth for future generations," says Jiminy's Katie Fogel.

Jiminy is a leader in green programs. The Berkshires resort was the first in the nation to install a wind turbine, with a capacity to generate 1.5 megawatts of electricity. The area used that power to run its snowguns and open Nov. 22.
