Bernie Weichsel has been putting on ski and snowboard shows around the country for decades, and they have become welcome signs that another winter has begun.

Weichsel's company, BEWI Productions, has three shows lined up this fall: Oct. 22-24 at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.; Nov. 5-7 at Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo.; and Nov. 11-14 at Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Mass.

The show at the Mall of America will have resort exhibits, retail booths, giveaways, trampoline show, fitness tests, and continuous film festival. Admission and parking are free for this show.

The Denver show features America's Winter Olympic heritage, while also offering skiers and snowboarders savings. Colorado Ski & Golf will have a ski and snowboard sale, including 40 percent to 75 percent off 2008-09 equipment and apparel, and resorts will have deals on winter vacation packages, lift tickets and season passes.

The 29th annual Boston Globe Ski & Snowboard Expo, presented by SUBARU of New England, features new retail partners since the demise of Ski Market. East Coast Alpine and Eastern Boarder will roll out a huge ski and snowboard sale. Resorts around the globe will offer pre-season savings on winter vacation packages, lift tickets, and season passes.
