Pennsylvania's Seven Springs Resort is hosting a Thanksgiving weekend chock-o-block with activities and featuring a special lodging rate. Book any two nights at the Seven Springs Hotel Nov. 25 - 28 for $175 per adult. The rate includes both nights, two breakfasts, and a $50 gift certificate per adult for use at the resort. Children up to 11 years old can stay free. They also get the breakfasts but not the gift certificates. Hotel rooms could include two queen-size beds or a king-size bed with a pull-out sleeper sofa.  

Thanksgiving weekend activities are set up with families in mind. The Pumpkin Pass may especially appeal to younger kids. It's a variation on the musical chairs game. Participants pass a pumpkin around to music. The one holding the pumpkin when the music stops is out. Another option for kids is Picture Bingo with a Thanksgiving theme. A pumpkin-eating contest, Wii skiing, and face painting are on the agenda as well.

The Carnegie Scrience Center is setting up an inflatable planetarium for its Map to the Stars Show. The group will describe tools and tricks to locate constellations and how ice cream can be made out of liquid nitrogen.

Dining options abound. A barbeque buffet with an array of side dishes costs $14.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 8 to 12, and $5.95 for children 4 to 8 years old. The Slopeside Dinign Room Thanksgiving spread on T-Day is $24.95 for adults, $14.95 for chlidren 8 to 12, and $8.95 for those 4 to 7. Children 3 and under are free. Helen's Restuarant will be offering fine dining, and reservations are required.
