Crystal Mountain's Spring Fling Weekend Is March 14-15

Get ready to celebrate the coming of spring at Crystal Mountain. Mid-March often brings warming temperatures and longer days, which puts the Mountain in a spring mood. It's Spring Fling Weekend March 14-15 followed by a bit of blarney March 17 when they host a St. Patrick's Day celebration.

It gets a little crazy in spring and Crystal is no exception. Spring Fling Weekend activities include a cardboard classic race, the famed Jiggle Jump - into a pit full of Jell-O - and a kayak race down the ski hill. Oh yes, what would a spring event be without a Slush Cup; Speedos are optional. Spectators have as much fun as the participants; maybe more if it's cold. There will be an outdoor barbecue and face painting for the kids.

Think green and get in the Irish spirit for St. Patty's Day. Just add an O' in front of your last name. The day will be green-themed and provide lots of fun for the entire family. For those that like a traditional Irish Pub Crawl you can head off to nearby Traverse City. It's one of northern Michigan's best Irish parties, but don't forget to include a designated driver. It's a half-hour drive from TC to the resort and road patrols are normally in force for this day. Be safe.
