Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range is a motherload of craggy peaks, miles of endless forests, and home to Giants Ridge Resort, the Gopher State’s largest golf and ski resort, which is offering attractive season-end lift and lodging specials throughout March.
Midweek, Sunday through Thursday nights, lift and lodging start from $90 per person, per night, based on double occupancy. The package, which is available through March 15, allows you to ski or ride for two days.
The Sunday Sneak-Away package, also based on double occupancy, starts from $75 per person. It includes an overnight Sunday, skiing or riding Sunday night and all day Monday. The package is available through March.
The Sun-n-Ski package, available the weekends of March 9-11, 24-25 and March 31-April 1, gives you 25-percent off lift and lodging. The package includes two nights of lodging.
The Giants Ridge Spring Carnival, Slush Cup takes place the weekend of March 16-17. Events include the crowd pleasing Slush Cup on Saturday and walleye fish fry Friday night and rib-fest Saturday night.
The Ridge offers 35 slopes and two terrain parks. Giants Job, an intermediate terrain park features several rails, boxes, foot kickers, a quarter pipe and half pipe. Mini Shred, a beginner terrain park, includes smaller features, rails and kickers. They will be closing at the end of the month.
