I've skiied many resorts both out West, East and Europe. By far, this mountain has an appeal I just can't describe. Being a longtime east coast skier I can proudly say this mountain can play with the big boys out west, its 3,200+ vertical is a legitimate vertical, much bigger mountain than Killington in terms of continuous vertical although Killinton's acreage is much larger, Whiteface is a mountain that deserves respect, the slide area which I skied last March is awesome as good as anything I've ever skied. Yes the east has a couple of mountains that can run with the western resorts and Whiteface is definetly one of them. Don't be ashamed to ski the east its better than you think.
