We visited for 1 week in mid-March and are comfortable in spring and icy conditions. Founds lots of ice and exposed boulders on open runs. At the summit, we found a single orange rope acting as a barrier to an extreme drop. Morning skiing was ok, but by noon the ice was exposed and wet. The run rating (blue square, black diamond) are honest, so please know your ability or be conservative. There are very few green circle rated runs, so beginners are restricted to some tough icy and wet skiing. Food was fine at bistro and base lodge. Scenery is fantastics and we spotted deer from the gondola. The skiers who were on the mountain were all very capable, probably because you need to be to manage these runs. The new Lookout station was a beautiful addition, kids echoing their way down hill. Widening some runs from top to bottom for beginners would make the mountain more approachable. Really enjoyed the Lake Placid shopping.
