Vertical, glades, did I say vertical... and the base and mid-mountain lodges...
None...

Full review

First trip to Whiteface will be the first of more to come. The vertical is amazing for the east... summit to mid-mountain alone offers runs that exceed most other resorts on the east. The base lodge may be the best in the east... site and size... just feet from the gondi... and the mid-mountain lodge is the best... large, two level with a fulll wrap-around deck... just awesome. On the mountain, the terrain rules... they have the most vertical and great variety... something for everyone... and how do they manage to move the crowds with nary a liftline... anywhere? So professional... It was spring conditions, nothing groomed, with bumps on every black run, deep but soft bumps... perfect! Bumps on the blues too, all skier bumps... a little less deep but soft too... all great fun. Got the impression that every skier on the mountain was advanced... very impressive. US Alpine Championships were running on Mountain Run... amazing to watch... and no doubt as to why they chose Whiteface... 1st class terrain... 1st class operation.
