Our family of five has traveled to a variety of skiing mountains within a 5 hour drive of our NJ Shore home. We are primarily interested in finding mountains that are good for the entire family. Of the many places we have been in PA, NJ and NY, West Mountain has been our favorite. The quality of the snow, natural and man made, is great. The trails are groomed well and there were only a very few ice patches. Our youngest skiiers have taken lessons at many different mountains. The lessons they received at West were definately the best (instructors were Niki and Spencer). The bunny slope is a little bit isolated from the other trails unlike a place like Mountain Creek where high level skiiers ski through the lesson area.

Everyone in our family found trails they liked. And BEST of all, even on a beautiful sunny President's Day Weekend, we never waited in line for the chair lifts.

In addition, for those who don't ski or for those who want a break from skiing, the tubing park is very fun. But the tubing park can get very busy on weekends and waits can be long. Go on Friday or Sunday evening.
