First of all, Thunder Ridge is not a resort mountain. So you world class skiers and snowboaders should travel further north. What it is, is a great place for local teens and tweens to spend their time productively exercising and socially. Although the one day price is expensive for the size of the mountain, the season pass pays for itself after five visits. Since it is open until 9 pm local kids can spend anywhere from an hour to a full day on weekends or after school. As a mother I actually feel better dropping my older kids off for a few hours of social exercise instead of a questionable movie. If the conditions aren't great that day it doesn't matter, the kids find a way to work around that and have a great time. Thunder Ridge is a wonderful local family oriented mountain and it would be best to stay that way and those looking for a resort atmosphere should just keep driving.
