Lake effects snow here can rival western powder. Snow Ridge is an unpretentious ski area that offers a genuine ski experience. Local telemarkers tend to congregate here and often ski the treed back sections (north) of North Slope. Snow Pocket, when open, often offers the best snow on intermediate terrain. Although the vertical is small, there are rarely any significant lift lines. We joke about the need to move Whiteface to the Tug Hill!
