This review is coming from someone who has both worked and had a season pass to peek n peak over the last decade. The positives include: excellent snow making and grooming(by far the best in western NY), a decent ski school, a lack of crowds considering the location and LOTS of infrastructure-pk n pk is 3/4 family resort 1/4 ski area.
The main draw back about this place is the terrain, you have your choice of either low angle groomers or three bump runs of varying steepness. I know this in western ny but keep in mind this place has by far the most boring terrain of all the ski hills in the region as well as the shortest runs(400' vertical drop). This is why the pk is a family place.
What else is there to pknpk? They have a decent and improving kids race team. They sometimes close one of the four main chair lifts for a couple weeks for silly things like christmas light shows and snowmobile races. The typical skier here to be blunt is very bad, you will see lots of people walking down flat groomers. In that respect its kinda more like skiing in north carolina than new york.
Pknpk is perfect for families but if you want real skiing keep on driving.
