well, hunter is what it is. overcrowded on the weekends --> i go during the week. nightlife is what you make of it...not really a park rat. what i am is a lover of good terrain and riding in the trees. i rate hunter a four simply because of how good there black and double-black diamond trails are. also, you better like advanced moguls. with double fall lines and moguls across them, you better know how to ride...just wish they had more glades. they added a new area, but it wasn't open the day i went. they appear to be getting more progressive like gore and whiteface about tree skiing and riding. i also don't really see where they could add that much, but they have made an effort. hunter is not my favorite mountain in the east, but i have a sweet spot for it. as for the skied off type of is fairly true. it will go from powder fields at 9 to moguls by 1. it is a mountain that separates good skiers and riders from those that aren't. furthermore, if you are on the double-black diamonds, you won't have to worry about out of control morons. the mountain will take of them. the west side is really good.
