Hunter mountain is a great mountain for people living in the tristate area because of its great location and amazing snow conditions. I live near Mountain Creek, which is by far the worst mountain on the planet that is extremely icy and indescribably crowded. The conditions are NEVER good and they get barely any snow.
Hunter on the other hand, is only another 45 to an hour drive (i live in north NJ) and is twice the size of the Mountain Creek, both vertically and trail wise. The snow conditions are always amazing (when the weather is good) because they are one of the main leaders in snow making in the world, which means the second it goes below 32 degrees they pump out incredible amounts of snow, usually becoming the first mountain on the east coast to open all of their trails. When it's cold, even if it doesn't snow, you can always count on Hunter to be open with many trails.
